Maureen's Bio
Maureen is originally from New York. She has lived in Fairfax County, Virginia since 1986. Her father and older sister were both artists so Maureen grew up in a home filled with art and art supplies. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Fordham University in New York and then an Associate Degree in Interior Design from The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Maureen has studied Expressive Art Healing with Shaun McNiff and has a Reiki Third Degree certification. Maureen is owner of Life Through Art, where she teaches art classes and art healing workshops both in groups and privately. She is currently working at an elementary art teacher in Fairfax County, Virginia.
Maureen creates art in watercolor, oil, photography and mixed medium. She has exhibited her work at The Fairfax County Government Center, River Farm in Alexandria, Greenspring Gardens, Kingstown Library, Springfield Days, Franconia Government Center, Mt. Vernon Inova Hospital and The Arts Festival of Alexandria, to name a few. Maureen's personal goal is to bring art and creativity to everyone whether by creating their own art or by enjoying the creativity of others.
